Google features instant real-time results
Published 25th January 2010
As social networking sites have increased in popularity, Google has launched a new feature that includes live updates from Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed, MySpace, Jaiku, and Identi.ca within its search results.
The included results appear in real-time as people are submitting the posts across various social networking sites, news sites or blogs. Usually it takes days for Google to index new information to include in its results but now when you perform a search, you will have the option of viewing a real-time stream of what people are posting at that very instant.
To view real-time results in Google:
- Perform a search
- Click on 'Show options...' immediately under your entered search term
- Choose 'Latest' from the search options menu to view a full page of live tweets, blogs, news and other web content that constantly updates in Google.
