Most, if not all, of our clients know our Support Director, Martin. Martin is the first port of call if our clients wish to make changes or updates to their websites.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Mercurytide Support, we provide an aftercare service for our clients. This means that our clients benefit from a point of contact that will assist them with the ongoing management of their websites and systems. A dedicated Support team is fairly unique within web development companies but we recognised that keeping on top of website maintenance can be daunting and time-consuming. This is where Martin comes in.
As Support Director, Martin acts as a filter between Mercurytide’s clients and our website developers. The majority of our clients are not technical, so Martin has the job of explaining technical terms and processes to our clients in a way that they will understand, while having the ability to ‘talk tech’ with our developers.
Aside from his technical knowledge, Martin enjoys working with and assisting people. He delivers an excellent level of customer service to our clients and also shares his knowledge with Mercurytide staff, and he even throws in a joke or two! Of his role within Mercurytide, Martin says,
I absolutely get the most job satisfaction from helping people. It doesn’t matter if it’s a simple job or something that’s more complicated – I’m at my happiest knowing I’ve helped by doing the right thing for our customers.”
Martin has an impressive background within the IT industry, and it’s this depth of knowledge that our clients benefit from. Prior to joining the Mercurytide team, Martin’s career history includes sixteen years within software support for Macromedia, Adobe and Samsung. He’s been with us for the last four years and has built long-term relationships with Mercurytide’s clients.
Outside of Mercurytide, Martin loves to set himself a challenge. He has competed in several runs including two marathons and the demanding ‘Edinburgh Seven Hills Challenge’…not to mention Tough Mudder! Last year, Martin also sported an impressive moustache in aid of Mercurytide’s participation in Movember. In his spare time, Martin has a lovely 20-month-old daughter Katie to keep him on his toes as well as supporting his beloved football team, Heart of Midlothian.
