University of Glasgow
Delivering personalised physiotherapy online
How do you give effective physiotherapy treatment, regardless of a patient's physical location?
The University of Glasgow is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's four ancient universities. They asked us to build them a system to enable physiotherapists to tailor a rehabilitation programme for their patients from a set of activities and exercises. The power of video was harnessed to provide users with detailed and comprehensive demonstrations about how each exercise should be performed, helping to ensure the treatment is carried out effectively.
The solution was designed to cater for all levels of IT proficiency, with simple navigation and a very intuitive user-friendly design. Additionally, diary logging was incorporated into the system, allowing patients to keep notes and record their progress. This enables physiotherapists and doctors to review and adjust each patient's programme as necessary for maximum effectiveness.
Mercurytide's Web-Based Physio solution has given physiotherapy patients the options to receive treatment in the comfort of their own home. This therapy can now be delivered in a cost-effective way, while maintaining the high standard of care and attention to detail that one would expect with traditional physiotherapy.

A word from the client
"Mercurytide offered everything we were looking for; they took time to understand our requirements both from the physiotherapist and patient perspective and offered innovative solutions which we would never have considered. It has also been developed in such a way that it is agile enough that we can adapt the website to cope with future alterations in health care provision, technological advances and changes in patient expectations. Without Mercurytide none of this would be possible."
